I have been involved in interior design since 1974, when I began my training with Colefax and Fowler, in Brook Street, London. Since 1982 I have been running my own business and have been a member of the British Interior Design Association for the last nine years. The majority of my work has been in private homes, however, I have also undertaken the redecoration of offices, hotels and schools. My projects range from entire houses to single rooms. I do not impose my ideas upon my clients, but will firstly listen to their own likes and dislikes carefully and then work with them to create an environment that is truly ‘theirs’. Over the years, I have made an enormous amount of contacts with suppliers and craftsmen. I have accounts with many of the top suppliers of fabrics, wallpapers, carpets and furniture. I also have my own team of curtain makers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and specialist decorators, with whom I work closely. I am currently based in Hertfordshire.
Would you do your own dentistry? Underpin your own foundations? Make your own cosmetics? Of course not! Then why not employ a professional to help create the home or commercial property that you really want? Far from indicating a lack of taste or initiative using an interior designer can help you to realise your own ideas far more effectively and quickly than going it alone. The slog will be eliminated, thus, hopefully, making the redesign of your home or office an enjoyable experience. A professional can also provide fixtures, fittings and fabrics (often unavailable through retail outlets), and a team of reliable workmen (from plumbers to cabinet makers) as well as a fresh and objective eye. Please go to my portfolio section to see my latest projects. Using a designer is often significantly less expensive than you might imagine. An interior designer will also save you from making costly mistakes.
